Unfortunately, Easons no longer sell wool and other craft supplies. The Craftworks section reviewed below closed down, possibly in 2019.
Eason’s flagship store in O’Connell St, Dublin used to have has a large craft section on the first floor.
Called Craftworks, there was a good selection of yarn, patterns, sewing fabrics and a haberdashery. They also stocked some materials for sugarcraft and paper craft enthusiasts.
Yarn wise, they stocked a wide range of Rico, especially cotton. I also saw some Sirdar wool & other popular value / acrylic based lines similar to Hickey’s in Henry Street’s offering.
There was also a nice table & seating area, where you could relax & look through the pattern binders etc.
I think Craftworks opened in late 2015, but I found that not too many knew about it. Indeed, I was sometimes in there myself flicking through craft magazines & forgot to head upstairs to get my yarn fix!
Even though Easons no longer sell craft supplies, it’s still worth visiting their flagship O’Connell Street store. They have lots of craft books in the basement and the best selection of craft magazines in Dublin on the ground floor.
